Carla Emelia Mendoza Islas is a Mexican architect and interior designer based between Mexico City and Berlin, leading a practice focused on architecture, interiors, and spatial atmospheres. Her work is informed by a deep interest in materiality, image culture, and contemporary ways of inhabiting space, resulting in environments that feel both emotionally charged and formally composed.

Educated at TU Darmstadt, where she completed her architectural studies and Master’s degree, and further shaped by an exchange at Tongji University in Shanghai, her background reflects a dialogue between cultural sensibility and architectural precision. Her professional experience spans Mexico, Germany, Switzerland, China, and the UK, including work with Macías Peredo Architects, Morger Partner Architekten, Nieto Sobejano Arquitectos, and Goodbye Earth GmbH.

Since establishing her independent practice in 2022, she develops residential, retail, hospitality, and interior projects focused on tactile, atmospheric, and quietly distinctive spaces.
