This project involved the interior transformation of a historic eight-unit residence in Potsdam, creating distinct yet harmoniously connected homes for eight different families. The design centers on preserving the building’s classical character while introducing a refined contemporary atmosphere. Sculptural staircases and original wooden doors set the tone upon entry, guiding residents into bright, generously proportioned interiors.
Each apartment features warm herringbone floors, soft lime-plaster walls, and tall windows that fill the rooms with natural light. Minimalist kitchens in muted tones, paired with subtle brass details, provide a calm counterbalance to the historic shell.
Living spaces are defined by elegant ceiling heights and quiet, modern furniture pieces that emphasize comfort and spatial clarity. Thoughtful lighting, curated textures, and a cohesive palette ensure a serene flow throughout the building, while bespoke storage solutions and carefully planned room layouts enhance functionality for family living. The result is a timeless, understated interior concept that elevates the heritage of the house while offering each family a warm and contemporary home.
