Villa Carla is the sensitive renovation of a historic villa located just 20 minutes from Milan, carried out between 2022 and 2023. The project reinterprets the house’s classical Italian character through a calm, material-driven design language that balances heritage with contemporary living.

Original proportions, arched openings, and the villa’s quiet architectural rhythm were carefully preserved, while the interiors were reimagined through a refined palette of lime-based plaster, natural stone, dark timber, and richly veined marble. Soft daylight moves through the spaces, enhancing the tactile quality of the materials and creating an atmosphere that feels both intimate and monumental.

Particular attention was given to the spa and bathing areas, conceived as immersive retreats defined by monolithic surfaces, warm brass fixtures, and a restrained yet luxurious material expression. Outdoors, the garden and pool extend the architecture into the landscape, framed by cypress trees and Mediterranean planting.

The result is a timeless restoration—serene, elegant, and deeply rooted in the character of northern Italy.
